Customer Subscription management

The Customer Subscription management is a powerful self-service interface where shoppers can easily manage their own subscriptions without needing to contact support. Everything can be done right from the portal, providing customers with full control while reducing your support workload.

To enable the subscription management portal for your customers, you need to add the necessary blocks to your Shopify theme. Follow these steps:

Adding Subscription Management to Account Page

  1. Navigate to Theme Customization

    • From your Shopify admin panel, go to Online Store → Themes.
    • Click Customize on your active theme.
    • Select either the Orders page or Account/Profile page where you want to add the subscription management interface.
  2. Add Subscription Management Widget

    • In the theme editor sidebar, navigate to the Apps section.
    • Find and add the Subscription Management block to your account page.

  1. Save and Add to Menu (Optional)
    • After adding the block, click Save.
    • You’ll see an option to Add to menu which allows customers to easily access their subscription management page from the navigation menu.

  • If you choose to add it to the menu, a popup will appear where you can configure the menu item name and save it.

Subscription Management Button for Orders Page

There’s an additional block called Manage Subscription Button that can be added to the Orders page, allowing customers to quickly navigate to their subscription management page directly from their order list.

Configuration Steps:

  1. From the Orders page in the theme customization editor, locate the Subscription Management Button block in the Apps section.
  2. Add the block to your Orders page layout.
  3. The Manage Subscription button will now appear on the order list page, giving customers quick access to manage their subscriptions.

  1. After adding the block, the Manage Subscription button will appear on the Orders page as shown below. Once you’ve positioned it correctly, click Save to apply the changes.

The customer portal provides an intuitive interface where customers can view and manage all aspects of their subscriptions:

  • View all active, paused, and cancelled subscriptions
  • See next order date and frequency
  • Check subscription status at a glance
  • Access order history

Access comprehensive subscription details including:

  • Product items and quantities
  • Pricing and discounts
  • Delivery schedule
  • Payment method
  • Shipping information

Inside the customer portal, customers have complete control over their subscription experience with these powerful features:

Payment Methods Update functionality allows to buyers add new payment methods to their subscriptions, in addition to switching between existing ones.

Customers can easily update their payment method for future recurring orders. This feature allows them to switch between saved payment methods without contacting support, ensuring uninterrupted subscription service.

When customers click to update their payment method, a modal appears showing all their saved payment methods. They can select a different card, and the change will be applied to all future subscription orders.

Customers can easily skip their next delivery when they don’t need it, helping them avoid subscription fatigue while keeping their subscription active.

Skip Upcoming Order

Give customers the flexibility to pause their subscription for a specific period or cancel it entirely when needed. This reduces involuntary churn and improves customer satisfaction.
